Obituary of Nanette Evans
Fort Worth – Nanette R. Evans, 93, passed from her human existence to her eternal life with her Lord and Saviour and her dearly departed loved ones on April 27, 2019Nanette was born Dorthea Nanette Russell on September 24, 1925 to Thomas Henry Russell and Marie Farrar in Wichita Falls, Texas. Nanette and her mother moved to Fort Worth where she attended high school. After graduation she entered the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. It was at the age of 20, while in the nursing school, that she met Lt. Wilbur Lee Evans (known as Lee) and they married November 1, 1945 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church on Magnolia Avenue. She became a housewife and as a couple during Lee’s military career they moved multiple times in concert with his military assignments that took them to different military bases around the world.Upon retiring from the military, Lee and Nanette settled in Fort Worth, Texas. Nanette did some volunteer teaching during this time in her life.She and Lee had four children, Nancy, Natalie, David, and Marsha. Natalie and her husband, Jerry Meyer, looked after Nanette in her later life after the death of her husband, Lee, in October 2005. Nanette had eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
