Obituary of Drew Frederick Rohrer
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Drew Rohrer, our beloved father, husband to Robin Rohrer and grandfather to Emily, Clark and Joey June. He died peacefully at home over the weekend. He was born in Rochester, NY to Betty & Drew Rohrer and graduated from Rush Henrietta High School, received his BS in Chemistry from college in Santa Fe, and his MS in Safety Science from USC.Drew was a US Navy veteran, chemist and had a very long career in the nuclear power industry. His military service brought him aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Vietnam War. He worked for the USN NUC, Lawrence Laboratory, Impell, ABB and was a Project Manager with AREVA.Drew loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved traveling with Robin any chance they got. His joy in travel took them on so many adventures and out of the way places yet always “no place like home” and family. He never met a stranger which led to his greatest passion in helping others always in so many ways. He was also an avid woodworker and was constantly working on a new project. The garage became his wood shop from which one of a kind creations made on the lathe to cabinetry to delicate music boxes emerged. He was our rock and fiercely loved each one of us. He was the best father, husband, friend and his presence will be sorely missed.Drew is survived by his wife of 53 years, Robin; and children, Shannon and Vanessa; and their children Emily, Clark & Joey June.
