Obituary of Raymond Cecil Brown
Raymond Brown, Age 84, passed away peacefully, on December 5, 2017Raymond was born May 27, 1933 in Lexington, KY. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School, the University of Kentucky and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. His university studies were interrupted by three years of military service, 1953-1956. After completion of OCS, he joined the 11th ABN Division of the US Army. Ray was ordained in June 1962 serving Presbyterian pastorates at Pisgah (Woodford County, KY), All Souls (Lexington, KY), and St. James (Fort Worth, TX). While in Seminary in 1960, he married Lenora Corbin Parsley, Director of Christian Education at Meadowview Presbyterian Church (Louisville, KY). Their son, Raymond C. Brown, Jr. was born in 1962 and their daughter Elizabeth Leigh Brown was born in 1964. In 1971 the Browns opened The Little Delicatessen on the west side of Fort Worth, which they owned and operated for 13 years. Ray completed his employment years as an insurance agent and agency owner, retiring in 1999.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora (Corbie) Brown in February, 2011.Survivors: Son, Raymond C Brown, Jr., M.D. and his wife Amy; granddaughters, Katherine Marie and Rebecca Leigh Brown; daughter, Elizabeth Leigh Brown of Houston; sister, Eugenia Yuen; brother, Ronald L Brown.
