Obituary of Timmothy James Elrod

Timmothy James Elrod, 58, passed away at his home on Friday, October 8, 2021.Timm was born March 9, 1963 in Burnet, Texas, the son of Dennis and the late Dixie Elrod. Throughout his life, Timm pursued knowledge and was a problem solver. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma University, and Masters’ Degrees in Information Science and Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was the Vice President for Business Technology at Doskocil Manufacturing and went on to become COO at SkinCeuticals where he helped grow this company until the international cosmetics company, L’Oreal, purchased it. He then became a Vice President at L’Oreal. At the time of his death, Timm was the IT Manager for The North Central Texas Council of Governments.Timm was dedicated to his wife and two children. Rather than accept a transfer to L’Oreal’s USA headquarters in New York City, Timm resigned, opting to keep his family in Fort Worth near extended family and friends. He lovingly encouraged each child in their interests and educational goals and was an active supporter of their grade and high schools. Timm was quick to help those he encountered during his life journey. He was full of loving kindness, laughter and ready to welcome every new acquaintance as his friend. He was an avid sports fan—especially OU sports. He proposed to his wife, Cathy, at a Texas Ranger game on the jumbotron with her family in the ballpark.The Elrod family extends their appreciation to family and friends for their loving support during the past several days.Timm is preceded in death by his mother, Dixie Elrod, and sibling, Kim Elrod.Survivors: Timm is survived by his wife, Catherine Godley Elrod of Fort Worth; children, Hannah Elrod and Claire Elrod of Fort Worth; and two sisters, Cheryl Elrod Maples of Alabama and Mona Elrod of Oklahoma.
