Obituary of William Macon Ingram
William M. “Bill” Ingram, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018.William Macon Ingram was born April 27, 1928 in the Walnut Grove community of Gibson County, TN. He attended Springhill schools, graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and served in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1953 – 1955.His life-long professional career with Massey Ferguson took him and his family to Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN, and Dallas, TX, where he retired as Regional Finance Manager in 1993 at the age of 65. He resided in Plano from 1983 until his death.Bill was an avid sports fan, especially University of Tennessee football. He and his wife loved to travel and visited every state in the United States and numerous foreign countries.He was preceded in death by his parents, Tollie and Rena Ingram who lived in the Walnut Grove community of Gibson County, TN; brothers, George Ingram of Trenton, TN, and Curtis “Buck” Ingram of Denver, CO; sisters, Mildred Ingram Taylor of Walnut Grove Community and June Ingram Jones of Trenton and Jackson, TN; and niece, Betty Ingram Cannon of Trenton, TN.Survivors: His loving wife of 58 years, Charlotte Taft Ingram, originally from Pulaski, IL, and later Dyersburg, TN; his son, Kent McAfee and wife, Irma, of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren, Austin and Brittany McAfee; and his devoted niece, Carol Ingram Reed of San Diego, CA, with whom he had a special bond; sister, Joy Ingram Nolen of Austin, TX; and nieces and nephews, Curtis Taylor of Trenton, TN, Vera Taylor Shelton of Memphis, TN, Kay Ingram McEwen of Dyer, TN, Frank Jones of Ridgeland, MS, Anne Jones Strickland of Huntsville, AL, Cindy Jones Spring of Pinson, TN, Carol Jones Brown of Shelbyville, TN, and Anita Ingram Quintana of Westminster, CO.
