Obituary of Floyd Ray Benson

Floyd Ray Benson Sr. was born May 1, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Paul Levi and Mary Magdalyn (Staley) Benson.He served in the US Navy and was employed as a machinist mechanic for Martin Sprocket & Gear.Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 47 years, Carolyn Lee Benson; his daughter, Melissa Kay Avila; his brothers, William B. Benson, Kenneth Frost and Chester Frost; and sister, Beatrice Benson.He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Marian (Gray) Benson; his children, Floyd Benson Jr. and Ronald Scott Benson; brother, Garland Frost; and his grandchildren, Amanda Gonzalez, Nicholas Marquez, Antonio Marquez, Christina Benson, Elizabeth Niewoehner, Jonathan, Michael and Jessica Benson; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and Marian’s family including her children, Mary Jane and Garnett Savage, Denise Pryzybylowicz, James Hester and Edward Hester; grandchildren, Angela McCollom, Garnett Wayne Savage Jr., Christopher Savage, Tory Heath, Katie and Kristina; and his special friends, David Atkins and Herman Boudroux.
