Obituary of Philip Moroneso

Philip Moroneso, 76, died at his home on March 5, 2022, surrounded by his wife and immediate family.Philip was born April 15, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, to John Mario and Rose Covello Moroneso. On April 4, 1974, Philip and Anne were married in Los Angeles, California and moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1976. Shortly after moving to Fort Worth, Philip began his career as a Financial Services Professional, a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP), culminating in earning a master’s degree in Financial Services (MSFS) from the American College. Philip worked tirelessly on behalf of his clients, some for decades, always seeking innovative solutions and becoming a respected mentor to many in his profession.Philip’s impact on the Fort Worth community will be felt for years to come. His heart for service and love of fellow man led him to become involved in a myriad of organizations, including Texas Health Resources Foundation (Past Chairman of the Board), Fort Worth Sister Cities International (Past Chairman of the Board), Friends of Harris Southwest Hospital (Past Chairman of the Board), Rotary Club of Fort Worth, Clayton Youth Enrichment Services (Past Board Member), ACH/Bridge Association (Past President), The Women’s Center of Tarrant County Foundation Board of Directors (member), Fort Worth Chapter of Society of Financial Services Professionals (Past President), Fort Worth Business and Estate Council (member), and the Association of Advanced Life Underwriters (member).Philip was an active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church for 45 years, serving in various Church Council positions. His faith was a guidepost for the way he lived his life, and it brought him immense comfort in his final days.Outside of work and serving his community, Philip was an avid arts supporter. He loved all forms of art – music, dance, painting, photography, and film. Philip and Anne enjoyed acquiring art pieces for their home, each with its own story that Philip would recount at any opportunity. He loved sharing a delicious meal with special friends, both in locations across the world and around a kitchen table. Philip had the unique ability to create connections in the briefest of moments. In doing so, he formed lifelong friendships wherever he went. Phil also enjoyed spending time with friends and family as a long-term member of the Fort Worth Club and the Mira Vista Country Club.Philip truly adored his family – his beautiful wife, his three children and their spouses, and especially his six grandchildren. Philip was a doting grandfather. He had difficulty denying any request from a grandchild and enjoyed being mischievous, much to the delight of his grandchildren.Philip was especially blessed to be a Moroneso male with the gift of getting better looking every day.Philip is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Janice (Steve) Mathis, Steven (Becky) Moroneso, and Michael (Katey) Moroneso; grandchildren, Megan, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Sophie, Penelope, and Julian; and brother, Angelo (Ann) Moroneso.
