Janice Leah Breitenstine, 74, of Fort Worth, TX passed away Saturday March 27, 2021.Janice was born to Curtis and Betty Beaber in Clinton, Ohio on January 26, 1947. Janice graduated from Northwest Highschool, majored in music education at Capital University where she was a member of Phi Beta Fraternity and received her master’s degree in music education from the University of Guam. After her retirement, Janice earned a second master’s degree in American History from Ashland University.Janice is survived by her husband James, sister Linda, daughter Leah, son Matthew and his wife Courtney, and granddaughter Emerson.An accomplished singer, pianist, harpist, and clarinetist, Janice’s passion for teaching and musical talent was abundant. A teacher for 46 years, Janice retired from Fort Worth Independent School District where she was awarded Teacher of the Year. She was an avid traveler and sang in three different European concert tours. She served as Church Council President and Music Director of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Janice also served as a Texas delegate to the Republican National Convention. During a teaching sabbatical, Janice obtained her pilot’s license with an instrument rating and enjoyed flying her Cessna 172. She was head over heels in love with her granddaughter and was joyously awaiting the arrival of her second grandchild.
