Obituary of Edward A. Smithson
Ed passed away June 30, 2018, in Fort Worth, TX at the age of 86.Ed was born June 9, 1932, in McAlester, OK to Arthur and Ella Myrtle (Forister) Smithson. Both of the parents died within days of each other in 1954. Ed attended a high school in the Plano, TX and Broken Arrow, OK and Central Christian College, in Bartlesville, OK and David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. Ed was drafted into the United States Army in 1957 and discharged in 1959. Ed was involved in gospel ministry in the Church of Christ for 68 yrs, as a preacher, teacher, author, publisher, editor, and radio programs.Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ella Myrtle (Forister) Smithson, sisters; Lily Christine Woods, Martha Elizabeth Wroten, Ella Sue Hamer, brothers; Benjamin Arthur, Roy Clarence, Noel Ray, Jackson Lee, Alonzo Hamilton, daughter Paula Lea Rosenbalm.Ed leaves behind son’s Randy of Euless, TX and Richard of Fort Worth, TX, grandchildren David Rosenbalm of Irving, TX, Bryan and Maria (Florez) Rosenbalm of Watauga, TX, great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Liliana Rosenbalm, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
