Obituary of Howard F. Schmidt

Howard F. Schmidt, 90, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022.Howard was born on November 20, 1931, in Minneapolis, MN to Melita and Joseph A. Schmidt. He retired from the United States Navy after 22 years, as well as Dresser Industries and the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed skiing, playing tennis, sailing with family, and camping. Howard is the last surviving sibling of four children.Howard was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Kilgore.Survivors: Wife Joanne Schmidt; children, Cathryn Schmidt, Emily Potter and her husband Jim, and Joseph Schmidt and his wife Vida; grandchildren, Charlie Kilgore and his wife Amanda, Elaine Cook and her husband Anthony, Phillip Schmidt, Tyleese Bishop and her husband Michael Clay, Christian Potter, Kaitlyn Potter and Michael Potter; great grandchildren, Elijah Cook, Lonnie Kilgore, Michael Kilgore and George Kilgore; and a host of extended family and friends.
