Obituary of Marlene Ackels Mallick
Marlene Ackels Mallick passed away peacefully in her Fort Worth home on October 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.Born January 6, 1933, Marlene was a graduate, with honors, of Ursuline Academy in Dallas and served as her Senior Class’ Class President. Active in the Catholic Church, Marlene attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Dallas where she was an organist at 8 years old.Marlene was a child prodigy pianist and served her church faithfully with her gift for many years. She played piano her entire life and entertained her family and friends on countless occasions. At age 21, Marlene worked at Blue Cross of Texas until 1957, when she met and married George A. Mallick, Jr. of Fort Worth. Marlene moved to Fort Worth and started her family. After Marlene was married she attended St. Andrew Catholic Church in Fort Worth. Marlene was active in Catholic Charities and worked side by side with her husband, George, in their original construction business. She helped many friends, family and acquaintances in countless business and personal endeavors throughout the years. She was a dedicated mother caring for her children throughout the years and especially her youngest daughter, Michelle, who preceded Marlene in death in 2016.Marlene is preceded in death by her late husband, George, and her youngest daughter, Michelle, and is survived by her daughter, three sons, daughter in-laws, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
