Obituary of Kay Eigel Fuhrman
Kay Eigel Fuhrman died peacefully Wednesday, March 21, 2018.Kay was born in St. Louis, MO, to Edwin and Catherine Eigel. After earning a B.S. in Nursing from St Louis University, she married fellow SLU graduate, Bill Fuhrman, and moved to Fort Worth in 1956. She was Director of the School of Vocational Nursing at St Joseph Hospital, earned a Masters in Christian Community Development from Regis University, and served as Director of Liturgy at Holy Family Church. Described as a go-getter devoted to her faith, family, and friends, she co-founded the Texas Association of Vocational Nurse Educators and was an active member of many organizations including the Catholic Daughters of America, Holy Family choir, multiple councils and school boards, and Fort Worth Civic Chorus. It was a full life, indeed.Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bill; sons, Leonard and Gerard; and brothers, Ed, Tom, Bill, Jim, and John, and is survived by children, Bob and wife, Barbara, Tina and husband, Greg, Kathy and husband, Bill, and Amy; granchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Gavin, and Tyler; and brother, Bob.
