Obituary of Jody Grant
Jody passed away peacefully with all her children by her side Monday morning, March 5, 2018. During her intensive 10-week battle with cancer, she was surrounded day and night by her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters — a testament to how beloved she was. Born March 21, 1944 in Lorenzo, Texas to J.W. May and Ruth May Vaughn, Jody moved to Fort Worth in the early 60’s where she had three children, Mary Ann, Tracy and Tommy. She also had a long, varied and successful career as a public servant primarily with the U.S. Department of Labor. In her retirement, she was able to fully enjoy her passions of traveling, rooting on her Rangers as member of the Texas Rangers Women’s Club, and being the proudest grandmother ever.Family members left to cherish her memories are her daughter Mary Ann Cottrell, daughter Tracy Rosson and her partner Kerry King, son Tommy Rosson and his wife Karen, along with Jody’s pride and joy grandchildren: Daniel Cottrell and his wife Ashley, their son Jordan, Sarah Cottrell, Elizabeth Hons and her husband Cameron, David Cottrell, Nathan Cottrell, John Cottrell, Mary Cottrell and Deborah Cottrell. She is survived by her brothers Jerry May and his wife Glenda and J.W. “Butch” May and his wife Terri, as well as her sisters Mitzi Price, Sandra Davidson and Diane Hogg.
