Obituary of Paul J. Ashour
Surrounded by family, Paul Ashour died peacefully in his home on Friday, August 4, 2017.He was born on June 29, 1926 in Subiaco, Arkansas on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Nurtured in a Catholic home, Paul was the 8th of 9 children raised by his widowed mother, Catherine.After becoming a Certified Electronics Technician, Paul moved to Fort Worth at the age of 26 where he worked at Rucker’s Radio & TV for 37 years. Paul learned to fly and soloed early on. An avid sportsman, he regularly bowled over 200 and won 2nd Place in the Fort Worth Amateur Golf Tournament. Paul was devoted to God and went to daily Mass. He met his lifelong bride, Doris Manning, through the Catholic Felician Club. Blessed with 6 children, they and their children loved camping, playing Bridge and Rook.Survivors: His wife, Doris; and children, Titus and Diane Ashour, Catherine Rodriguez, John Ashour, Monica Ashour, Clare and Nick McGarrey, Tommy and Maria Ashour; fourteen grandchildren; his sister, Sister Rose Ashour, O.S.B. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and numerous nephews and nieces.
