Obituary of Thelma Springfield Shiller
Thelma Springfield Shiller, 80, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018.Thelma was born in Springtown on December 12, 1937, the tenth and last child of Jesse James Springfield and Thelma Williams Springfield.Thelma grew up on her father’s farm near Springtown, sharing life there with brothers, sisters and many cousins. She graduated from Springtown High School, Class of 1956. She married Franklin D. Shiller of Fort Worth on November 8, 1957.Her working career was spent in downtown Fort Worth, a place she loved dearly. After years with Gulf Oil Corporation and Pan American Petroleum Company, the last fifteen years of her career were with the law firm of Tarlton, Douglas, Kressler and Wuester, now Stenholm and Douglas.Thelma accepted Christ early in life and was an active member of Arborlawn United Methodist Church since 2008.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Helon, Curtis and Norman, and sister, Johnnie Springfield Thomas.She is survived by her husband of 60-plus years, Frank Shiller; brothers, Don (Mary) and Hendrix (Ethel); sisters, Marzella Springfield Stevens and Cherry Springfield Markgraf; sister-in-law, Dolores Shiller; brother-in-law, Dr. William Shiller; plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
