Obituary of Gigi Laborde Grisham

Gigi Laborde Grisham, 50, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018.Geraldine Ballard Laborde Grisham, “Gigi” as she was known, was born August 23rd, 1968 in Fort Worth, Texas, the 5th of 6 children born to Henri and Martha Laborde. She was a 1986 graduate of Western Hills High School and attended Texas Christian University. She was employed for over 20 years by Immediate Resource, a wholesale clothing company.A great joy and blessing in her life was her son, Jacob. She devoted her life to raising him, providing him with her love and support to grow into the fine, young man of whom she was so proud. Gigi enjoyed traveling often with her beloved husband, Terry, who passed away exactly one month prior to her. She was always ready to go, including making many trips to Austin for football. With both Terry and Jacob as UT graduates, Gigi gained an appreciation for Texas football. These 2 men were the center of her life.A loyal, devoted sister and friend, she never met a stranger. Gigi most enjoyed hosting gatherings at her home with her extensive, diverse group of friends, as fellowship, cooking and decorating her home brought her great joy. Her 2 dogs, Migus and Ellie, were her steadfast companions for several years.We will miss Gigi’s love, passion for others, and humor which were one of a kind. Our lives will not be the same without her.In addition to Terry, Gigi was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Laura Miller and Sabine Laborde.She is survived by her son, Jacob Harned; sisters, JoJo Brinton and her husband, Tom, and Michele Goldman and her husband, Mark; brother, Henri Laborde and his wife, Stacey; Terry’s daughter, Austin Grisham Fairbanks and her husband, Chris; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins that she dearly loved.
