Obituary of J. Allan Carmena

J. Allan Carmena Jr., 93, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.Allan was born October 13, 1923 in Sellars, Louisiana, the son of John Allan and Vera Bernard Carmena. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Texas, after serving in the USMC as a fighter pilot during WW II. He was awarded numerous commendations including the Distinguished Flying Cross.Allan retired after 30 years of employment with General Dynamics and Bell Helicopter. He enjoyed old cars and was a member of the Model A Club. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Glenna K. Carmena; sons, Mark Carmena and Mike Carmena and his wife, Jean; granddaughter, Angela Herring and husband, Jay; great grandchildren, Ava and Andrew Herring; sister, Pat Holt; several nieces and nephews.
