Obituary of O J Butts

Oliver “OJ” Butts passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, March 28, 2018.OJ was born in Fort Worth on February 15, 1917, the son of Oliver J. and Marie Ward Butts. At age 14, he won a Charleston dance contest with Ginger Rogers. OJ graduated from Central High school and served as a flight instructor in the US Air Force. He worked with the family business, OJ Butts Plumbing Co., with his father and brother, Horace.OJ was a member and served as an Elder at University Christian Church and was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Ridotto and Colonial Country Club.Survivors: His wife of 72 years Vivian; daughter, Cheryl Strange and her husband, Bill; son, Curtis Butts and his wife, Claudia; grandchildren, Sean Strange and his, wife Christie, Kristen Strange Dodd, Kelly Strange, Tyler Butts and Charlie Butts; great grandchildren, Hillary, Will, Reid and Kate.
