Obituary of Patricia Anne Peninger Gougenheim

Patricia Anne Peninger Gougenheim, 88, died on May 22, 2020 in Carrollton. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy in Fort Worth, and Dominican College in Houston. A teacher, principal and music instructor for more than 60 years in public and parochial schools, Pat touched the lives of many people throughout her career in Austin, Beaumont, Port Arthur and Houston. She gave reading workshops at many schools and it was said she could teach a rock to read. She was a director of religious education, gave religious education workshops, supervised the Head Start program in Houston, and operated a Montessori school in Austin. Pat played for prayer services at the facility where she lived and taught private piano lessons. She belonged to a book club and participated in social gatherings.Three years ago, Pat and her husband of 49 years, Ron, moved to Frisco to be near their children: Alisa Swink and her husband, Todd, and Christopher Gougenheim and his wife, Michelle, grandchildren, Jackson and Morgan, and her sister, Clarice Peninger of Fort Worth.
