Obituary of Wanda Brooks Gibson

Wanda Brooks Gibson, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 in her home of 50 years, surrounded by her loved ones.Wanda was born October 17, 1945 in Fort Worth to Hugh C. and Margaret Justice Brooks. She was a lifelong resident, graduating from Arlington Heights High School in 1963. She attended Texas Christian University, receiving both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education and remained a loyal Horned Frog for life. She spent many years as a teacher before changing her career path and entering the insurance industry. She worked for Farmers Insurance as a successful agent for over 20 years where she found her passion in serving her clients and working in the community that she loved.Wanda had 2 daughters, Tracy and Susan, and was always active in their activities, attending many concerts, games and performances. She enjoyed spending time with her friends through dinner club and monthly lunch bunch. Wanda lived with hearing loss from a young age and was a member of the Hearing Loss Association of America, Kappa Delta and Mensa. After retiring in 2012 she enjoyed being at home, spending time with her four grandchildren and hosting garage sales with her neighborhood friends.Family was very important to Wanda and she always took care of her family and those around her.She is survived by her daughters Tracy and husband Phillip, Susan and husband Edward, and grandchildren Maegan, Holly, Henry and Annabeth.
