Obituary of Vivian Lee Potts
Vivian Lee Potts, aged 78, professional violinist and loving wife and mother passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022. Vivian was born October 22, 1943, to William Robert and Florence Vivian Hewett in Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Fort Worth in early childhood where she remained the rest of her life. She graduated from Paschal High School and TCU. She married the love of her life, Alan Potts on July 29, 1967 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, where she was a lifelong member.Vivian joined the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra while at TCU and continued in the violin section for over 40 years. Additionally she taught orchestra at Fort Country Day School from 1980 to 1997 and maintained a large studio of private strings students.In addition to music and painting, Vivian was a world traveler. She traveled the US and made multiple trips to Europe, Canada and especially enjoyed sharing the love of travel with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Alan Potts, son Richard Potts and wife Monica, daughter Courtney Bone and husband, James and daughter Crisanne Barker and husband Jeffrey. Grandchildren are Lauren and Brandon Potts, Katie and Riley Bone, Claire, Blaine, and Chloe Barker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Philip Hewett.
