Life throws us all a curveball, but it's how we swing at it. Collin, you certainly hit yours out of the park! Your loving spirit, attitude and words of wisdom are exemplified by your saying "DON'T COUNT THE DAYS, MAKE THE DAYS COUNT!" I will spend the rest of my life trying to live up to that, one day at a time. Love you my brother, you will always be an inspiration to me and those your life touched. I'm glad to be a part of your team. God bless you always and Christ be with you!

My heart breaks for all who knew and loved Collin. I had the pleasure of knowing Collin and will forever remember his caring heart. When my son passed away in 2019, Collin sent me a heartfelt email with a video he created of my son and I can’t explain what it meant. I knew Collin had his struggles with ALS but his heart still thought of others. I know the void the family will feel and my heart breaks for you all. I will cherish every memory and will be praying for peace and comfort for all that loved him.

The man could dance as we would learn. One of the greatest gifts in life are unexpected pleasant surprises. When I think of Collin that is the first thing that pops into my mind "unexpected pleasant surprises". Of the years after our MBA together at TCU and after finding out that Collin had ALS whenever I found myself experiencing challenges in life I have always thought of 'Collin's unexpected pleasant surprises". From being mesmerized on how influential he was in the first presentation we saw him do in our MBA to seeing him dance in South America on our global studies trip for the program I was always taken off guard by "Collin's unexpected pleasant surprises". Sitting at the dining room table in his house playing cards with him and the fellas with him pushing all in only to lose all my darn money because I was certain he did not have anything while I was in a stronger position only to be bitten by another one of "Collin's unexpected pleasant surprises". You might think you have a strong position, while Collin always seemed to have the upper hand in the end with his unexpected pleasant surprises. Collin, always humble, made these unexpected pleasant surprises a memory that will be imprinted in my brain and soul. In the Marine Corps we say 'Semper Fidelis" meaning always faithful. Collin alway demonstrated "always faithful" as a friend, a father and more importantly as a husband. Your physical presence may have left this planet old friend, but your memory continues with "Collin's unexpected pleasant surprises". Semper Fidelis old friend, Spann

Collin has been such a great inspiration for as long as I have known him, starting at Texas A&M. When confronted with one of the worst possible medical diagnosis, rather than break down, feel sorry for himself and wait to die, Collin tapped into his faith and became a force that could not be contained by his earthly body. He became a role model for living life to its fullest, proving that happiness truly is a choice. I will always remember joining Collin during his triumphant 2018 Cowtown half marathon pictured in this photo. It was this day that I discovered the wisdom and truth behind his philosophy of “Don’t count the days - make the days count.“ I will be sporting our race day shirt in the Cowtown Half in 2023 allowing him to push me across the finish line this time. Godspeed Collin! In the Bond - Charley Pettigrew
