Obituary of Denae Michelle Harrington
On Tuesday, the 20th of December, Denae Michelle Harrington passed away from complications due to an auto accident. She spent her final moments with her two kids and their father by her side in the hospital room.
Denae was born November 23, 1965, in Newport Beach, California at Hoag Hospital. She is survived by her two children, son Dustin (Megan), daughter Alyssa (Brendan); her grandkids, Wilson (5) and Claire (2); and her brother, Ron Marlatt.
Denae met the father of her kids, Terry Harrington, in 1983, and were high school sweethearts. They soon got married and moved from California to Idaho where they started their family with their first born Dustin. Two years later they had their second, a baby girl Alyssa. Denae always wanted to be a full-time mother and was fortunate enough to be that for 13 years. She worked many jobs over the years, but her favorite was Costco in Fort Worth, where she worked for 17 years. She was a cashier for many years, and would have customers waiting to go through her check out line to chat about anything and everything. There never was a stranger that she didn’t turn into a friend. The past couple years Denae has spent a most of her time being Grandma Dee Dee to her two grandchildren. They will miss her dearly, but know Dee Dee lives in the big blue sky now.
Denae was one-of-a-kind. If you knew her personally, you know exactly what that means. She was anything but boring. Loved by many. Even after a bad day, she would wake up the next day, make her coffee, talk to the birds, and keep it moving. The eternal optimist, she always knew how to make the best of any situation. Denae will be missed most for her contagious laugh. She was one to walk into a room and have that certain something that just makes people smile. Her heart was always with her kids and she will continue to live through them everyday.
Denae’s Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Dustin Harrington will offer his mother Denae’s Eulogy.
