Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Nelson

Fort Worth, Texas - Elizabeth Anne Foley Nelson, 72, passed away July 27, 2023. 

Rosary: 4 p.m. with visitation following until 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, at Thompson's Harveson & Cole.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 am Friday, August 4, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church.  

Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. 

Elizabeth was born on June 30th, 1951 to Thomas and Cecilia Foley in Wichita Falls, Texas. After graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1969, she studied at SMU and graduated in 1973.  She excelled as a member of the debate team and was a Kappa Delta Sorority sister.

Elizabeth taught at Bryan Adams High School, Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and Saint Andrew Catholic School. She also enjoyed teaching RCIA classes at St Rita’s Catholic Church.

Her smile lit up every room.  She never met a stranger. Her interests included swimming, singing, watching musicals, eating chocolate ice cream and getting all “dolled up.” And above all, she loved giving hugs to all eight of her grandkids. 

She is survived by the love of her life Richard “Dick” Nelson, whom she married on June 20th, 1981.  Together they had three daughters Kathleen, Cecilia and Mary Elizabeth.  Elizabeth and Dick had eight grandchildren, Mia, Tucker, Brody, Lina, Mateo, JJ, Skylar, and Vivian.
