Obituary of Terry Lynne Klipsch

On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, Terry Lynne Klipsch, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord.

Visitation: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole, 4350 River Oaks Blvd.

Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 800 W. 5th Street, Fort Worth 76102.  Private Interment.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or Susan G. Komen, in remembrance of Terry Lynne Klipsch.

Terry was born on February 3, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to William G. Bally and Margaret (Fletcher) Bally. She spent her childhood and school-age years in Plainfield, Indiana. While attending Indiana University, she met the love of her life, David, on a blind date that her brother set up in the fall of 1962. She went on to graduate with a degree in nursing from IU.

On October 24, 1964, Terry and David were married. Their love story was one for the books. Terry loved being David’s wife and all of the many adventures that came along the way. When her children, Kim and Mark, were born she spent every day making sure that their days were filled with love, laughter, and joy, with a strong Christ-centered foundation. She was present and a part of all of their personal and school activities from when they were young into their adult lives. She would always be there, any day, any time.  Family was everything to her.

This spilled over to her grandchildren when they were born and continued until the moment she took her last breath. Her grandchildren, Chase, Tate, Logan, Lilly, Alyssa, Jadon and soon to be Meridith were her pride and joy. She would tell anyone that wanted to hear about their accomplishments, and even told those that didn’t want to hear it. She was so proud of each one of them and what amazing humans they have become. She loved being “Grammy.” She was honored and blessed to be Aunt Terry to Clif and Angie, Kelley and Joe, Elise and Dan, and Matthew, along with Great Aunt Terry to Eli, Hannah, Jack, Nick, and Jake. She recently became a Great-Great Aunt to Annie and loved her from afar, even though they hadn’t met yet.

Terry loved to travel with David, adding new adventures each year. They were always planning where they wanted to go next. In the 59 years they were married, they enjoyed vacations to Mexico, Europe, Scotland, Australia, Nova Scotia, along with many other countries and stateside locations including their most recent travels on a riverboat cruise.  She never met a stranger and could make a brick wall talk.  Terry spent her life serving others. Whether it was at the mission, church, the hospital, numerous other charities, or helping her daughter in her classroom, she always gave 150%.  Her love of animals was unsurpassed…whether adopting dogs in need from the shelter to donating to the penguins in Antarctica, her compassion for all living things was inspirational.  When at home she always had a quilting/needlepoint project, or two or three, going on at once. She was a talented seamstress and while we didn’t always appreciate our handmade clothes in the moment, looking back they are some of our favorites still to this day. 

Terry’s love and kindness transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She loved Jesus and it showed through the bounty of beauty she brought to everything she did. Her smile and joy brought light to those around her. Terry had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share herself and evoke the same spirit of love in each person she knew. She was sweet with just the right amount of fire. Terry loved her family and those close to her fiercely and unconditionally, and instilled that in each of us.

Terry was preceded in death by her father, William Bally, her mother, Maragaret Fletcher Bally, her brother, Bill Bally and his wife Susie, her father-in-law Marion Klipsch and his wife Beatrice (“Pete”), her sister-in-law Marcia Klipsch Nordhorn and her husband Bob. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David, daughter Kim and her husband, Jim, son Mark and his wife, Ranika, grandsons Chase, Tate, Jadon, and Logan, granddaughters Alyssa, Lilly, and Meridith, nephew Clif and his wife Angie, niece, Kelley and her husband Joe, niece Elise and her husband Dan, and nephew Matt, great niece Hannah and her husband Ron, great nephews Eli, Jack, Nick, and Jake, great-great niece Annie, cousins Jay and Jane, and her beloved dog, Roxy. 

Words cannot describe how deeply she impacted us all. She will be missed terribly. We try to continue to live our lives as she did and make her proud, by loving others with our whole hearts, serving and giving to others, and celebrating every moment in our journey with grace and joy.
