Jen and I met in high school at Hauppauge High on Long Island, NY. She was friends with Georgianna Tortorella and I was friends with her sister Theresa. We used to call Jen "mom" because if you were feeling sad, she'd ask you about it and give you her full attention as you'd talk about what was bothering you.. She'd offer advice and never judge people. Jen had a great smile and laugh. With a twinkle in her eye, she'd tell/act out stories and jokes. We lost touch after a few years, like people do. Thanks to Facebook, I was able to reconnect with her and found out she married Ray and lived in Texas. And it was through Facebook that I learned about her illness. I could hear her voice as I read her posts about her health. I'm glad we got to reconnect before she passed on. I know I am writing this post almost 8 months after her passing, but she came to me in my dream last night. She looked healthy and beautiful, and was wearing that big smile. I hope Ray and his family, and Jen's remaining family, find peace through the memories they have of and with Jen. God bless.
