Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend

On Saturday, the 23rd of March, Charles Joseph Pelletier III completed his eight-week fight with metastatic cancer. His last weeks were spent surrounded by friends and family, offering up his suffering and the indignities of cancer, in union with Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, for the benefit of his family and friends.

Born on the 27th of January 1975 to Chuck and Pat Pelletier in Fort Worth, TX, Charlie was known to all who met him as a fast and indomitably loyal friend. As evidenced by the hundreds of visitors he had in his final weeks, Charlie’s impact on his friends and family was both profound and lasting. He was known by all as a selfless, genuine, and generous friend, but the appellation he was most proud of was favorite uncle, a title which he held will all of his 18 nephews and nieces, as well as with the children of many of his close friends.

Charlie’s influence was felt in every community he held dear, especially local live music, running, and the craft brewing world of Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth, where he was a constant and welcome fixture. Charlie regularly volunteered to organize events, volunteered his time and travel to transport products, and was always available to support local craft breweries in any way he could.

Charlie holds the distinction of being the first graduate of the College of Saint Thomas More, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classics from the University of Dallas, studying Latin, Greek, ancient literature, history, and philosophy. His aptitude for languages translated well to a multi-decade career in computer technology, where he cultivated life-long friendships and professional relationships.

An active parishioner at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Charlie was (and is even more so now) steadfast in his Catholic Faith. He had a special and deep devotion to the Infant of Prague that began with his visit to Czechoslovakia as a student at the University of Dallas.

Charlie is survived by his mother Pat; sister, Lisa and husband Randy; brothers, John and wife Kathleen, and Jim and wife Stacie; 18 nieces and nephews; 6 grand-nieces and nephews, and myriad of Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer, and his father, Charles Jospeh Pelletier II.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

Viewing will take place at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Fort Worth, TX from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Monday, the 1st of April, to be immediately followed by Evening Vespers.

Mass of Christian Burial – Principal Celebrant Bishop Michael F Olson - will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday the 2 nd of April at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Fort Worth, TX, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

There will also be a reception following the Committal at the Parish Hall at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.
