Obituary of SMSGT Michael Allen Shull USAF(Ret.)

SMSGT Michael Allen Shull, USAF(Ret.), 85, passed away August 12, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas.

Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Should friends desire, memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to a charity dedicated to Alzheimer's research.

Born June 9, 1939 in Miami, Florida, he was the son of Thomas Harold and Ruth Muriel (Ziebold) Shull.  He graduated from Miami Senior High School in Miama, FL in 1959 and entered the Air Force.  He served a tour at the Pentagon on the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and at the Regional Medical Center in Wiesbaden, Germany. He retired in 1985.

During his retirement, he was Director of Purchasing at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Fort Worth and also the Hilton Fort Worth retiring in 2008.  He enjoyed spending time at his home in Florida and being outdoors whether tending the flowers in his yard or just enjoying being outdoors.

In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Loraine Cecile Shull in 2010 and his brother, Thomas Harold Shull Jr. in 2022.

Survivors include his niece, Denise Straus, her husband, Norbert John Strauss Jr. and their son, Henry Thomas Strauss; nephew, John Michael Shull, his wife, Lucy, and their daughters, Megan Shull and Mackenzie Shull; and best friend Filiz Satzinger of Hobe Sound, Florida.
