Obituary of Marie Edith Tisdale Ramsa
After receiving the Last Rites from a priest, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, beloved mother and grandmother, Marie E. Ramsa passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in Harris Methodist Hospital of Fort Worth. She was living at Bethesda Assisted Living in Fort Worth.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Interment: 1:30 p.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with her first husband, William Ramsa.
Marie was born in Texarkana, Texas Sept. 20, 1931. Her first husband, William A. Ramsa predeceased her. Later in life, she married Oliver Stanley, who also predeceased her.
She is survived by one child, Cynthia N. Ramsa, one granddaughter, Candise Ramsa. and Her sister, Beth in New Hampshire, plus a few nieces and nephews.
Marie was a faithful member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Fort Worth, where she regularly attended until her faltering mobility due to aging kept no longer allowed her to share in worship there.
Marie had numerous career jobs. She was a carhop, a restaurant hostess, and a real estate agent. She loved being an agent and was quite good in sales. She loved her first husband, “Bill” Ramsa and they were a military family that moved around a lot to different bases across the U.S. Bill was a surviving veteran of the allied D-Day assault in World War II, plus was an advisor in Vietnam and Korea. After he retired from the military, he worked many years in Civil Service.
When Bill retired from Civil Service, he and Marie bought a travel trailer and for six years toured the U.S. They even went up into Alaska and loved the beauty and serenity of that state. When they finished their excursions, they settled in Fort Worth, Texas.
Bill later developed lung cancer and passed away. Years afterward, Marie married Oliver Stanley, also a military veteran whom she met at a church bereavement class. She and “Stan” were a loving couple. They loved to play dominos, especially the game called 42. Marie also enjoyed playing bingo and holidays, especially Christmas was always special to her. Stan spoiled her with gifts on her birthday, at Christmas, and on their anniversary. Both she and Stan adored Marie’s granddaughter, Candise and a great grandchild, Skylar. Stan passed away and few years ago, and Marie’s health began to decline as she aged.
She loved her church and her friends there, plus was a regular attendee until her faltering mobility and health prevented her from going to Sunday mass.
Cindy loved her mom and was thankful God allowed her to have such a fulfilling and long life. Cindy is content knowing that Marie is no longer that lady with physical pain, nor is there anymore sorrow... for her soul is safe in the arms of God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
