Obituary of David Lynn Moorman
David Lynn Moorman, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
A funeral visitation will take place at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, with a private burial on Saturday at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth at 2:30 P.M.
David was born on April 29, 1956, in Longview, Texas, to Arlene and Thomas Moorman. He graduated from Southwest High School, where he was a proud member of the golf team, a passion that he carried throughout his life. He later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he became a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
David had an infectious sense of humor and was known for his warm and welcoming nature. He was a district manager for various retail operations, where he not only excelled in his role but also took great pride in mentoring those who were new to the industry. Many of his former colleagues remained in touch with him long after he had watched them flourish in their careers.
An easy conversationalist with a great mind, he knew a little bit about everything, with a special interest in history. David was passionate about college football, with the Texas Longhorns being his favorite team. After retirement, he was a loyal caretaker for his sister Cynthia, and loved spending time with his family and newly-adopted stray cat Cosmo.
His mother-in-law fondly remembered him as a wonderful son-in-law, always ready with wise advice and kind words.
David is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Moorman; his son, John Moorman; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Dee Tucker; his stepfather, James Wallace; his stepmother, Katie Moorman, his sisters, Cynthia Wallace, Lisa Roll, and Kimberly Browder; his brothers, Dana Thomas, Chris Fowler and Richard Moorman; as well as a large extended family and many cherished friends.
David’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of North Texas.
