Obituary of Jackie Huntley
Jacqueline “Jackie” Huntley, 92, of Azle, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 6150 Pershing Avenue.
Visitation with the family will start 30 minutes before the Mass.
Interment: Jackie will be laid to rest at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Jackie was born on March 24, 1932, in Kingsland, Georgia, to Julia and Henry Simpson. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse and retired as Director of Nursing at Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital in 1995. Her compassion extended beyond her profession as she served faithfully as an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Jackie volunteered in various ministries, including hospital ministry and offertory counter reflecting her unwavering commitment to her faith and community.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Jackie found joy in cheering on her favorite team. She also enjoyed going to her Pilates classes and watching her son and two granddaughters show their horses. Above all, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kindness, strength, and warmth touched the lives of everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Ernie Huntley, and her granddaughter, Samantha Marie Garner.
She is survived by her children, Ernest John Huntley IV and his wife Audrey, and Susan Marie Garner and her husband Steven; her grandchildren, Christina Huntley, Ryan Huntley, Seth Garner and his wife Mattison, and Sarah Garner Hardison and her husband Dominic; her great-granddaughter, Blakely Sue Hardison; her brother, Henry Yongue Simpson Jr., and his wife Carolyn; her sister, Barbara Sue Adams; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Jackie’s memory to Holy Family Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
