Obituary of Virginia Mary Abraham
Virginia Abraham, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd, where a Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 6150 Pershing Avenue, Fort Worth.
Interment: Mount Marion Cemetery, Strawn, Texas.
Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be given to Vitas Hospice or the Sisters of St. Mary.
Virginia was born on March 19, 1929, in Strawn, Texas to Mary and John Heatherington. She was a graduate of Strawn High School and met Gailey Abraham in Strawn, marrying in 1947. Virginia was a underwriter for Houston Fire and Casualty and retired from Millers Insurance. After her retirement she went to work for Nolan High School, working there into her 80’s.
Virginia loved traveling and baking. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Vitas Hospice and Sunrise Assisted Living for their care and compassion.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, William Heatherington, her sisters, Julia Carrie Hall and Dorothy Roemisch.
Survivors: Children, Ginda Abraham, Pete Abraham and Monica L’Hommedieu; grandchildren, Joseph Abraham and wife Katy, Justin Abraham and wife Jenny, Christopher Abraham and wife Sarah, and Megan Bray and husband Cody; great-grandchildren, William, Luke, Charlotte, Tanner, Norah, Emory, Annie and Ellis; and a host of extended family and friends.
